LICENSE TO KILL!!!!

"for the problem of the Twentieth Century is the problem of the color line!" And the problem of the Twenty First Century in the year of 2020 is still and remains the color line. In fact, and in my opinion, the problem in what is known as America, the USA remains the color line. No truer words ever were spoken in the history of this Country than those of the late great Dr W.E.B. Dubois. The color line is the foundation of this country. The color line built the wealth of this country. The color line determines laws, policies, where you live, where you shop, where you worship, where you go to school, etc. And as we all have witnessed over and over, the color line gives "white" people, in this Country, whether they are just regular citizens or cops, a "LICENSE TO KILL" black people! Now I know the first thing you will say is that's a lie, a false statement, or just my opinion. How can I say that so boldly or imply a statement on all white people in this Country. So let me put a Disclaimer in and say, I am not saying All white people will or want to kill black people or am I saying the law has given All white people a license to kill black people, by no means. Now I am not a lawyer or judge or even work in the legal field, but I do know that when a lawyer is trying to build a case, he or she will try to gather all the facts to make their case and present it in court before a jury to win for their client. Well let me present the facts I've gathered to make my case before you, my readers. Amadou Diallo, a black man, unarmed killed by the police. Sean Bell, a black man, unarmed killed by the police. Oscar Grant, a black man, unarmed and handcuffed, killed by the police. Jordan Davis, unarmed, killed by a white man. Walter Scott, unarmed, killed by the police. Alton Sterling, unarmed, killed by the police. Tamir Rice, a young black kid, unarmed, killed by the police. Trayvon Martin, a young black kid, unarmed, killed by a white wanna be cop. Eric Garner, a black man, unarmed, choked to death by the police. Michael Brown, unarmed, killed by the police. Sandra Bland, a black woman, unarmed, killed by the police. Breonna Taylor, a black woman, unarmed and killed by the police. Ahmaud Arbery, unarmed and killed by a white man. George Floyd, unarmed and handcuffed, choked to death by the police. With each of these cases, and this is definitely a short list, their are two important factors, each were BLACK and UNARMED. However, it Didn't matter that they all were unarmed. Didn't matter some were children. Didn't matter that some didn't commit any crime. Didn't matter what the crime was for the ones that did. And what was the crime some died for? Let's see, pulling out a wallet, walking home, a broken tail light, selling illegal cigarettes, playing with a toy in a park, playing loud music, jogging in a park, forgery! And I will add another important factor, that in most of these cases the killers are free or were found not guilty. So with adding that last important factor, the only factor that mattered in each case and why I boldly, and unapologetically say white people have been given a "License to Kill" black people in this Country is because the problem is and still remains, as Dubois so boldly stated years ago, "the problem of the color line!" And we should fight this problem as our dear brother Malcolm said, "By Any Means Necessary!" CASE CLOSED! This is my perspective!

I’m Back! It’s 2018! Ready, Set, Go!

Greetings! It’s 2018 and I’m back! It’s been a while however I felt it very necessary to return On The Real Grind blog post at this moment in time. We are at a crucial time in this world and there is a need for real free thinking perspectives that are open and not tied to the corporate structure and money. And of all the open, free thought perspectives, the black perspectives have been shut down and suppressed the most. On the national level, especially major television, blacks have no voice! TV ONE chose to end the only real, honest, open, free thought black news show we had, News One Now with Roland Martin! Really TV ONE?? So now our national black tv media is Don Lemon(CNN), Robin Roberts&Michael Strahan(ABC Good Morning America), Rev Al Sharpton(MSNBC) with a hand full of black correspondents, Eugene Robinson, Joy Reid, & Charles Blow to name a few, with Charles Blow being the most free thinking of them all, in my opinion. Although I have nothing against any of these black tv news personalities and I do watch them from time to time, I just feel their perspectives are controlled to a certain extent and we are short changed of the deep, real issues of our community and our perspectives on news events and stories. So the free thinking, open, unfiltered black perspective is now pushed to the internet, the websites, the YouTube video, social media sites, FB Live feeds, Podcasts, Streaming, and blogs such as this one you’re reading! On The Real Grind is a free thinking, unfiltered, uncontrolled, unapologetic black perspective(my opinion of course but allows the reader to express their perspective as well in the comments) on just about every subject from news to politics to current events to sports etc. On The Real Grind will also be informative and educational from a black perspective on issues that effect the black community and are important to us! I welcome you all to not only read my blog but interact as well by giving feedback in the comment section! Feel free to read my past blogs and please leave your comments! As always this is my perspective! Get ready, Let’s Go! Sound Off!

Race Matters(Correction)

Ok! Rodney King wasn't shot, but he was beat almost to death! My mistake! But I believe those who read my blog got the point! It seems as though it is always "open season" on black males in this nation! And I am fed up with the excuses! It's time to come together and take a stand! If you have a son, grandson, brother, nephew, father, uncle or just a black man that is important in your life, let's stand up for them! Sound Off! Peace & Love!

RACE MATTERS

"for the problem of the Twentieth Century is the problem of the color line." And who would have thought that "the problem of the Twentyfirst Century is the problem of the color line." Yes Dr. W.E.B. DuBois, you were right then and your words are true now. How can I say that so boldly: Rodney King, a black man unarmed, but shot by police, Amadou Diallo, a black man unarmed, but shot by police, Sean Bell, a black man unarmed, but shot by police, Oscar Grant, a black man unarmed, but shot by police.and now Trayvon Martin, a young black honor student walking home with some skittles and tea unarmed, shot by a wanna be cop. However, six black students were initially charged with second degree murder for a school fight with a white student. I rest my case!! This is my perspective! Sound Off! Peace & Love!

Radical Thinking

If you can control a man's thinking, you don't have to worry about his actions. If you can determine what a man thinks, you do not have to worry about what he will do. The late great Carter G. Woodson spoke these words to us many many years ago but it still stands today. This quote came to mind because of a conversation I had recently with a group of friends. It dawned on me in the midst of that conversation that the one thing that was really stolen from us was our ability to freely think and think critically. And if you choose to think radical you are going against the norm! So it made me think of people that thought freely and radically and what our world would not be or have if they didn't step out against the norm. Radical thinking formed the United States of America, radical thinking abolished slavery, radical thinking ended segregation and because of radical thinking America elected it's first African American President. Because of that conversation with my friends it really made me think about how differently people think and what they believe. It also made me think about a recent sermon Bishop TD Jakes gave on the Power of Thought! He said everything begins with a thought even God creating us begin with a thought. So it would be safe to say that thoughts can change the world! So if you are ever in a situation where you feel that your thought process is being attacked or that your thoughts are viewed as radical and going against the norm remember that the most powerful tool you have is your mind and your thoughts and it can change the world! Guard it with your life! This is my perspective! Sound Off! Peace and Love!
